The BBL, or Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, is a cosmetic procedure that increases the size and perfects the shape of the buttocks. This is an autologous fat transfer, which means the fat transferred to the buttocks is taken from the patient’s own body. In this procedure, the surgeon collects fat using liposuction from areas where the body has excess fat deposits, such as the thigh, flanks, etc. Once the excess fat has been suctioned out using a cannula, this fat is then purified and injected back into the buttocks to make the buttocks rounder and bigger. In this way, the BBL surgery allows for hour-glass body contouring.
